Are all faculty Christian?
Yes.
All faculty and staff members are committed to the Christian
faith. All believe in the authority of scripture and have
personal relationships with Jesus Christ. Faculty and staff,
from various denominations, demonstrate their faith in various
ways. Many attend Chapel, pray for and with students, attend
various events on campus and mentor students through expressions
of their faith.
Are all student Christian? No. Whitworth believes in diversity of thought and ideas. Students are not required to be Christian, therefore allowing open discussion on many topics. Students are not required to attend Chapel or sign a statement of faith. We believe it is up to each individual to develop, nurture and express their religious beliefs. While it is not a requirement of students to be Christian, approximately 70% of the students are involved is some aspect of the Christian dimension on campus.
Are their any required Bible or
religious classes or activities? Yes. A Biblical
Literature class is required for graduation. All other
